Passengers caught with drugs at Harrow and Wealdstone Station

SIX train passengers were caught with cannabis in two hours by police officers searching customers at Harrow and Wealdstone Station.
Specialist dog handlers and a drugs dog joined British Transport Police's Bakerloo Line North Neighbourhood Policing Team to carry out the operation between 7pm and 9pm at the Tube stop in The Bridge, Wealdstone, on January 21.

PC Terry Hall said: "This was a pro-active operation aimed at identifying and arresting those committing offences that may have otherwise gone undetected.
"Our aim as a Neighbourhood Policing Team is to listen to what the community wants from us and act on their concerns.
"Drugs and drug-taking at the station has been identified as a concern to local people who use the station and we are committed to addressing this."
Six passengers were issued with cautions after being found in possession of the Class B drug cannabis.
A seventh person, a 36-year-old man from Harrow, was arrested for possession of a Class B substance with intent to supply and was bailed to return to police in mid-February pending further enquiries.
"I hope that this operation acts as a deterrent to those who think it is OK to carry drugs at the station and on the network," added PC Hall.
